FOR SALE VINTAGE WATCH MEN’S 100 JEWEL WALTHAM AUTOMATIC SELF-WINDING IN ORIGINAL GOLD FILLED CASE AND VERY NICE GOLD COLORED MESH BRACELET. VERY RARE NICE DRESS WATCH. On dial -Waltham Red Wings 100 Jewels, Autochron, Swiss Made On back case- Waltham, Waterproof, Swiss Made, Shock Resistant Gold Filled case and Bezel, gold dial, with Gold Color Mesh Bracelet Watch and bracelet, I will put it at a 8 out of 10 as cosmetic condition- just some marks due to age and use. Works and keeps time. EXTREMELY RARE movement is marked AUTOCHRON “100 JEWEL”. The added 83 jewels are spaced around the perimeter in a decorative pattern, below the retainer ring. According to discussions on the NAWCC website, this is an uncommon movement, produced to celebrate the 100 year anniversary or similar milestone of the Waltham Watch Company… this could be an interesting research project, an important piece for a watch collector or the NAWCC museum… Case: The round shaped case/bezel is yellow gold filled. It measures 36 mm across (39.5 mm including the crown) and 42 mm” (lug to lug.) It is 13 mm thick and has 19 mm lugs. Dial: The round dial is absolutely stunning in appearance with gold style textured finish. Near the outer edge of the dial there is a minutes scale that is marked with gold buttons and lume. The hour marker at the 12, 3, 9 and 6 o’clock positions are raised and applied double gold baton markers. And, the hour markers at the 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 8, 10 and 11 o’clock positions are rectangular shaped single gold raised and applied batons; at 3 o’clock there is a date window with a magnifying cyclop-loupe. The Dauphine pitched style hour and minute hands are gold in color with lume. The straight thin sweep seconds hand is gold in color as well. The crystal is flat on its surface and rounded around its edges. It is raised 3 mm above the case and shows visible marks due to age and use. Movement: A Swiss made 100 jewel self-winding automatic signed Swiss, Waltham Watch Co., 100 Jewels. (There are actually a total of 100 jewels – 17 in the automatic movement and 83 in the underneath edge of the weight that have no actual function except to add to the mystic of this interesting watch.) Strap: A 19 mm mesh bracelet with a gold tone buckle.
