The book, published by Peacock, Mansfield & Co. in London, United Kingdom, is a rare and beautiful find. The book is bound in navy leather with stunning gold gilt floral decoration to the front cover and spine. There is no given publication date. However, the inscription on the first page indicates that this book was given as a gift in May, 1918. The recipient has marked in several key dates; including, sadly, the birthday of a family member, who was killed in action in France in April 1917, and the birthday of her father, who passed away, 1911. 11.8 cm x 9.3 cm. Condition Report This hardcover leather-bound birthday book is in very good condition for its age The boards are in good condition with light scuffing/rubbing at the edges and corners, and some rubbing/creasing to the top and bottom of the spine. There are some scuffs and minor marks to the leather. The binding is firm and square. The gilt edging on the pages is complete. There are three dates to a page and each of those dates has an accompanying verse. 26 of the 122 pages have entries on specific dates.
