They are like pink oysters and can die if they get close to freezing temperatures. Fresh cut hardwood logs should be used to prevent competitor fungi although it is best to allow the log to rest, off the ground after fresh cutting for 2-3 weeks prior to plugging. Fruit trees are generally not a good type to use. New and improved drill bits that fit a standard chuck and are designed to drill faster. This bit is the perfect size drill bit for the plugs we sell and most other standard sized plugs on the market. Our plugs and bits are cheaper than most other sellers.
